Summary:

Plan, direct, and coordinate work activities and resources for manufacturing compounds and ensuring maximum efficient operations of facilities and equipment in accordance with environmental, health and safety, quality and customer standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Comply with all environmental, health, safety and quality standards
  • Initiate or suggest ideas and support continuous improvement efforts in all areas of organization
  • Plan, Coordinate, and facilitate facility activities to meet production and shipping/receiving objectives
  • Ensure plant production documentation is properly completed
  • Lead training and development opportunities for production staff
  • Mentor and develop direct reports, create department and individual goals based on production, and manage performance management process.
  • Support the preparation and management of operations related costs to meet budget requirements
  • Monitor plant performance and identify cost reduction opportunities and growth activities
  • Provide leadership and direction to shipping/receiving and production supervisors, and production employees
  • Assist with creating production schedule based on sales forecast and input from technical manager, sales, and business support
  • Develop, implement and monitor departmental metrics related safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance utilizing manufacturing information systems/or and other resources.
  • Provide support and direction to General Supervisor and S/R Supervisor regarding warehouse activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, technical discipline preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management experience or equivalent combined education and experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with strong customer focused approach to managing people and tasks.
  • Demonstrated people and project management skills with the ability to meet established goals and timelines.
  • Strong focus on follow-up and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Employee must be able to relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions:

(a). can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes;

(b). perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, persuading or speaking with others;

(c). respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor

  • Constantly required to sit/stand, walk, talk and hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work environment: Plant and Office

  • Exposure to changes in temperature, dust, fumes and chemicals
  • Exposure to moderately loud noise while in the plant
  • Personal protective equipment required while in the plant.
  • Exposure to low noise levels while in the office
