Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
  • Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs and medical history review
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care strategies
  • Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments using four-handed dentistry techniques
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while maintaining strict infection control protocols
  • Review and update medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures, ensuring excellent patient care and safety standards are upheld

Requirements

  • Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials
  • Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix for charting and documentation
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control, and aseptic techniques
  • Experience in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and medical coding practices
  • Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care
  • Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs
