JOB SUMMARY


As Manager of Conferences & Events you will be advancing professional education and enhancing membership value through impactful learning programs. You will join a collaborative team where you will play a key role in shaping educational events, managing expert speakers, and driving continuing education initiatives that make a real difference. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Plan, implement, and oversee in-person educational events.
  • Develop annual budgets, monitor and control expenditures, and provide forecasting for up to five meetings per year.
  • Ensure smooth on-site event logistics, including food & beverage, signage, room setup, and audiovisual coordination.
  • Travel to and serve as the primary onsite contact for up to five events per year, managing onsite staff and liaising with venue partners and third-party vendors as needed.
  • Source event venues (hotels, universities, special event venues, etc.) and conduct site visits for up to five events per year.
  • Manage event venue and vendor contract negotiations for up to five events per year.
  • Manage attendee and speaker communications pre, during, and post event.
  • Manage speakers and subject matter experts, ensuring timely collection of forms, presentations, and compliance documentation.
  • Stay informed on emerging trends in adult learning and instructional design to enhance program delivery.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, education, association management, or related field.
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) credential is preferred.

WORK EXPERIENCE


  • 4+ years of experience in organizing educational meetings, coordinating CLE programs, or managing event logistics.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to proofread and edit effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and conference/learning management systems.
  • Experience with Cadmium CD systems (e.g., Education Harvester, Survey Magnet), Elevate LMS, Salesforce, is preferred.
  • Experience working with committees and volunteers in a membership-based organization is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CLE-related guidelines and standards is preferred.

  • Enjoys collaborating with others and can effectively manage staff assisting with in-person events.
  • Precise attention to detail; produces and reviews all work product with an unfaltering eye for accuracy and style.

LANGUAGES


ACC seeks to hire multi-lingual candidates. Fluency in English is required, and a second language is preferred.

TRAVEL


5-7 times a year.

SALARY RANGE


$74,500 to $83,000 - When determining a salary offer, consideration is given to candidates that possess minimum requirements and preferred qualifications.
