HIRING IN THE FOLLOWING UNIT for the FOLLOWING SHIFTS:

6th Floor Med/Surg

Full time, 36 hours a week

DAYS: 7 AM - 7 PM

NIGHTS: 7 PM - 7 AM

Pay starting at $33/hr for new graduates- increases with experience

Responsibilities:

  • A Registered Nurse at Wayne UNC Health Care is a member of the patient care team who, with knowledge of the nursing process, provides leadership in applying scientific principles and professional skills aimed at caring for the ill, preventing disease and maintaining optimum health.
  • Assists the provider in carrying out a therapeutic regimen for each patient and directs other licensed and non-licensed nursing teammates in providing nursing care to meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individual patients.
  • Implements the nursing process in order to provide professional holistic patient care
  • Provides all nursing services to patients and families in accordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Must Haves:

License: Current North Carolina RN License or Compact Licensure.

Certification: BLS

Experience: At least one year of inpatient hospital experience. Not lookin for candidates with only home health or skilled nursing.

Education: Associate's Degree

About the Unit:

Number of Beds: 48 beds - will float to other med/surg units as needed

Patient Population: General medical unit.

Common Diagnoses: Diabetes, stroke, kidney failure, respiratory distress, sepsis, liver disease, and other medical issues.

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:5-6, pending census and staffing.
