The Supplemental Nurse (RN or LPN) provides clinical and operational support to the DOI Wellness Center on an as-needed basis. This role ensures continuity of care during Nurse Manager absences, supports wellness programs, and assists with clinical services and special events.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including first aid, basic treatment, and health screenings
- Assist with triage and emergency response under established protocols
- Support wellness programs (vaccinations, health fairs, screenings, education)
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA and DOI policies
- Assist with clinic operations, including supply management and equipment checks
- Support AED program activities (inspections, readiness checks, training support)
- Provide coverage during:
- Nurse Manager leave
- Meetings or training
- After-hours and special events
- Coordinate with the Nurse Manager and OSHE staff to ensure seamless service delivery
Required Qualifications (RN)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 4 years of clinical experience (ambulatory care preferred)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to meet federal security and credentialing requirements
Required Qualifications (LPN)
- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
- Active, unrestricted LPN license
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to meet federal security and credentialing requirements
Work Schedule
- As-needed / on-call basis
- Primarily weekdays during clinic hours
- Occasional evenings, weekends, and special events
