Job Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) at Paving the Way Multi-Service Institute (PTWMSI) provides psychiatric care, including evaluations, diagnoses, treatment, and medication management. This part-time position allows autonomy and flexibility while adhering to the organization's values and clinical standards. Responsibilities include developing individualized treatment plans, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and offering staff consultation. The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and a commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans.
- Prescribe and manage medications for mental and behavioral disorders.
- Provide crisis response and medication assessments for clients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.
- Educate and consult with staff, clients, and families on treatment and medication.
- Maintain thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EHR).
- Option to practice psychotherapy alongside medication management.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Washington, DC.
- Certification from a recognized body such as the American Nurses Association.
- Unrestricted APRN license with prescriptive authority.
- DEA and Controlled Substance licenses.
- Must maintain own malpractice insurance.
Key Skills:
- Proficient in DSM-5 diagnoses and therapeutic interventions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team.
- Proficient in EHR systems, MS Word, Excel, and Google apps.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience consulting with primary care physicians.
- Experience working with pediatric and adult mental health populations.
Work Hours: Part-time contract position with flexible hours, ideal for balancing clinical practice and other responsibilities.
