About the Position
- The position will play a key role in supporting clients achieve their decarbonization goals and driving growth for PSE’s Global EACs Desk. This position is responsible for developing and managing corporate relationships, executing new transactions of U.S. Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and contributing directly to the desk’s ambitious budget targets.
- Reporting to the Director of the Global EACs Desk, the position will lead the desk’s sales and marketing activities for U.S. RECs, working in close collaboration with other traders, originators, and sales members within the desk.
- The ideal candidate combines strong sales execution skills with deep knowledge of international frameworks (GHG Protocol, RE100, SBTi, CDP, Green-e) and the ability to deliver credible, transparent guidance to clients while carefully managing the company’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Marketing, Client Development & Management
- Develop and implement a sales strategy for assigned markets, identifying opportunities using its own networks, research, and internal/external resources.
- Generate leads through direct prospecting, networking, and attendance at key industry conferences. Frequent customer visits and travel to events are expected.
- Actively engaging with prospective clients: understanding client needs, providing market insights through professional-level presentations, and providing tailored REC solutions.
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing accounts, building customer loyalty through professional services.
Collaboration & Market Engagement
- Collaborate with desk members and PSE management, aligning closely with the overall desk strategy and driving optimal outcomes for the desk and its business.
- Work cross-functionally with middle and back-office members based in Irvine, California (legal, risk, accounting, settlements, etc.) to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient execution of deals.
- Collaborating with other desks within PSE and businesses across the Sumitomo Group or external partnering companies to identify synergies and develop new business opportunities.
- Representing the desk at conferences, webinar, and other customer events to follow the latest market trends, competitor activities, regulatory developments, strengthening brand recognition and generating new leads.
HR Management & Team Building
- Proven experience in managing employees, coaching team members, and supporting their professional development to maximize performance.
- Having the ability to lead a sales team and mentor junior employees, with the potential to build and develop a strong team of REC specialists in the future.
Others
- Collaborate closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure all activities remain within regulatory and company guidelines.
- The role is based at the Company’s office in The Woodlands, Texas, with business travel as required.
- Responsibilities must be carried out in alignment with the Company’s business principles and strategies.
- This is a full-time role dedicated exclusively to the Company; outside business activities as an employee, officer, or director require prior management approval.
