At Lensing Building Specialties and Architectural Sales our Architectural Sales Division provides specified building products and services for commercial and industrial construction projects. Our family-owned operation takes pride in meeting deadlines, accurate bids and meeting orders correctly and quickly.

We currently have an open position for an Apprentice Project Manager. The Apprentice Project Manager will learn the industry and assist Project Managers in the Architectural Sales division. The Apprentice Project Manager will assist the department in coordinating and managing all phases of a project, from bidding the project, initial design to final installation. This includes monitoring schedules, project budgets, and resources to ensure timely and cost effective completion of the project. The Apprentice Project Manager will work closely with the PMs, external customers, building owners, general contractors and architects.

If you have experience in the construction industry and take pride in a job well done, this might be the job for you! The Apprentice Project Manager will work closely with experienced Project Managers in learning and gaining independence in the following:

  • Maintain a schedule of projects.
  • Track all jobs through completion.
  • Oversee the operational functions of each project.
  • Creating and maximize efficiencies on each project.
  • Create a plan of action to fully implement the start of each project.
  • Coordinate Turnover Meetings with estimator, salesperson, shop, superintendent/foreman and accounting department.
  • Perform bi-weekly coordination meetings during the course of each project.
  • Coordinate between shop, field superintendent/foreman and customer as well as with the architect, general contractor and building owner as appropriate.
  • Coordinate material lead times and orders with shop and purchasing.
  • Provide shop supervisor with hours estimated to complete the project prior to start of work.
  • Coordinate change orders with general contractor.
  • Coordinate close out documents with general contractor.

Qualifications

Minimum of 1 year construction industry experience or a degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Business or a related field
