🏢 About the Role
BuzzClan is seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist (Enteric & NGS Lab) for our client .This role is responsible for performing complex microbiological and molecular analyses on clinical specimens, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting public health laboratory operations.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of microbiological examinations including culture, biochemical testing, EIA, serotyping, PCR, and Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS)
- Isolate and identify enteric pathogens such as Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, Vibrio, Listeria, and Campylobacter
- Conduct molecular testing including nucleic acid extraction, PCR, sequencing, MALDI-TOF, and WGS
- Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, and reporting
- Evaluate, interpret, and validate laboratory test results
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in compliance with CLIA regulations
- Perform quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities and document all processes
- Maintain laboratory inventory and ensure availability of supplies
- Assist in preparing epidemiological and statistical reports
- Participate in cross-training across molecular, microbiological, virological, and serological lab areas
- Identify and troubleshoot issues affecting test performance and implement corrective actions
- Maintain competency and participate in proficiency testing programs
🔬 Testing Personnel Responsibilities (CLIA Compliance)
- Perform only authorized high-complexity testing aligned with training and experience
- Adhere to all laboratory procedures for testing and reporting
- Maintain accurate proficiency testing records
- Document QC activities, calibrations, and maintenance
- Identify testing issues and escalate when necessary
- Ensure corrective actions are documented and implemented
📚 Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Science (preferably Biology or related field)
- Strong knowledge of microbiology principles and laboratory practices
- Understanding of CLIA regulations and laboratory compliance standards
- Ability to operate complex laboratory instruments and techniques
- Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
⭐ Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience
- Experience working in a Molecular Biology laboratory
- Familiarity with advanced molecular techniques and automated lab systems

🧾 Additional Information
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST) – Onsite
- Candidate must comply with attendance and PTO policies
- Compensation and engagement terms will be discussed during the hiring process
- Maximum 2 submissions per vendor
🤝 Work Relationships
- Collaborate with laboratory supervisors, safety officers, and public health staff
- Interact with internal teams and external stakeholders such as local health departments
- Act as a subject matter expert in microbiological testing and procedures
