Physician Assistant – Cardiothoracic Surgery
Level I Trauma Center | Flexible 12-Hour Shifts | ICU Rounding & Procedural Focus
Are you a skilled and experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant (PA-C), or Nurse Practioner (NP-C) looking for an exciting locum tenens opportunity at a Level I Trauma Center? We are actively seeking an NP/PA with a strong surgical and ICU background to provide critical perioperative and post-operative care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients. This position offers a fast-paced, high-acuity environment with flexible 12-hour shifts (day and night available).
Schedule:
12-hour shifts, 7on/7off, (7 AM – 7 PM & 7 PM – 7 AM)
Multiple shift openings available on an ongoing basis
Immediate start dates available – expedited credentialing in 5-7 days!
Patient Volume:
10 patients per day
Case Responsibilities:
ICU rounding – Pre- and post-operative care for cardiac and thoracic surgery patients
Ventilator management – Oversee patients as they transition off mechanical ventilation
Surgical patient care – Manage open-heart, VATS (video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery), and lung cases as they recover post-operatively
Certifications Required:
ACLS & BLS required
Support Staff:
Work alongside a dedicated team of cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and specialized nursing staff
Credentialing Timeframe:
Fast-track process – approval within 5-7 days!
EMR System:
Epic
Licensing Requirements:
Active MT License or IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) eligibility
