Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description
Join our team as a Machine Operator where you will be responsible for operating machinery to apply adhesive to paperboard, ensuring quality control, and maintaining efficient production processes.
Responsibilities
- Operate glue pots and position rollers to dispense glue onto paperboard.
- Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions and inspect cartons for flaws.
- Make mechanical adjustments on machines to maintain optimal performance.
- Coordinate with Finishing Helpers to ensure all glue lines are adequately staffed.
- Verify that the Finishing area is properly stocked with supplies and coordinate with Purchasing as needed.
- Train Finishing Helpers and Finishing Operator Assistants in their roles.
- Place repair requests in the Maintenance Connection system.
- Complete Daily Management boards, including root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
- Perform duties of a Finishing Helper when glue line is short-staffed, such as feeding cartons into the machine, maintaining machine feed, communicating with operators and forklift drivers, and checking carton quality.
Essential Skills
- Experience in machine operation and general labor.
- Ability to stand for the duration of a shift and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Capability to write routine reports and communicate effectively in English (Spanish is a plus).
- Basic arithmetic skills and ability to interpret bar graphs, compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Problem-solving skills to address practical issues with limited standardization.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with cutting machinery similar to Sheet fed cutting equipment.
- Familiarity with machines such as 162 CER, 1600 ER, 103, and 126-BMA.

Work Environment
Work in a dynamic, 24/7 facility with approximately 170 employees. Shifts are 12 hours: three days on, three days off, followed by two days on, two days off. Be prepared to work any shift, including 1st shift from 6:45 am to 7 pm or 3rd shift from 6:45 pm to 7 am. This department operates six days a week. The facility is not climate controlled. Safety is a priority, and steel toe boots are required. We provide gloves, ear plugs, and safety glasses to ensure a safe working environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenixville, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.68 - $21.68/hr.
