Job DescriptionSenior Financial Accountant

Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9-month contract
Compensation: $45-$55/hour (DOE)

Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Accountant to support financial accounting and reporting activities with a strong emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and timely close. This role is ideal for a hands-on accountant with solid GAAP knowledge who enjoys working across teams and contributing to reliable financial reporting. CPA is not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial schedules
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with GAAP
  • Assist with preparation of internal and external financial statements
  • Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis; investigate variances
  • Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Collaborate with FP&A and Finance partners to ensure accurate reporting
  • Assist with process improvements, controls, and documentation
  • Support ad hoc accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5-8+ years of financial or general ledger accounting experience
  • CPA not required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles
  • Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with financial reporting in a corporate environment
  • Prior contract or project-based accounting experience
  • Exposure to system implementations or reporting enhancements
