We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as a Driver Manager. In this role, you will oversee a team of professional drivers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant delivery of goods and services. The successful candidate will participate hands-on by performing driving duties as needed. This dual capacity is essential for fostering credibility among the driver workforce and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of all operational challenges and procedures.

Sunday, 7:00am - 4:00pm Monday – Thursday, 12:00pm – 9:00pm (with on call as needed)

Hybrid - Remote and Onsite at Billerica, MA location
Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Supervision:
- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of drivers, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and accountability.
- Develop and maintain work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing for all shifts and routes.
- Ensure proper vehicle and equipment maintenance/upkeep
- Provide regular feedback and conduct performance evaluations for all drivers, identifying strengths and areas for improvement.
- Ensure all drivers are up-to-date on necessary certifications, licenses, and mandatory training programs.
- Communicate effectively and consistently with drivers about company policies, operational procedures, and expectations.
Operational Management
- Oversee day-to-day transportation operations to ensure safe, timely, and efficient delivery services.
- Monitor route assignments, evaluate route efficiency, and implement improvements as needed.
- Maintain records of vehicle assignments, routes, delivery schedules, and driver hours of service in compliance with company and government regulations.
- Coordinate with logistics, dispatch, and maintenance teams to ensure optimal vehicle and workforce utilization.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, accidents, or other incidents involving drivers or company vehicles, ensuring all necessary reports and follow-ups are completed.
Driving Duties
- Perform driver duties as required, including local and regional deliveries, to cover for absences or peak operational periods.
- Model safe driving practices and exemplary customer service at all times.
- Assist in the training of new drivers by demonstrating proper procedures and company standards.
- Conduct periodic ride-alongs and safety checks with drivers.
Safety and Compliance
- Promote a culture of safety and compliance within the driver workforce.
- Enforce adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Review and investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure all vehicles are maintained according to company and manufacturer standards, and that pre- and post-trip inspections are completed.
- Organize regular safety meetings and ensure drivers participate in ongoing safety training.
Customer Service
- Maintain high standards of professionalism and courtesy in all interactions with customers and the public.
- Resolve customer complaints or delivery issues promptly and equitably.
- Gather and relay customer feedback to improve service delivery.
- Represent the company and its values in the community.
Reporting and Administration
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, performance metrics, and incident logs.
- Review and approve driver payroll, overtime, and expense reports.
- Oversee the documentation of all required driver and vehicle records.
- Participate in budgeting and forecasting for transportation operations.
- Utilize fleet management and routing software to monitor and improve operational performance.
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in transportation management or supervisory roles.
- Ability to commute to Billerica, MA.
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Hazmat Endorsement, valid passport or passport card, clean driving record, and the ability to pass DOT physical and drug screenings.
- Driving Skills: Practical and current driving experience, with willingness to perform driving duties as required.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially in multicultural and multilingual environments.
- Problem-Solving: Analytical thinker with the ability to resolve operational and interpersonal challenges efficiently and diplomatically.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, fleet management software, and GPS routing technology.
- Compliance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other relevant regulations and best practices.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional planning, organizational, and time management skills.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive for extended periods; lift up to 40 lbs; and pass all company-required fitness assessments.

Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
