General Production Worker
Job Description
This role involves performing mechanical assembly of equipment in a fast-paced production environment. You assemble components using a variety of hand and power tools, follow schematics and drawings, and support general production tasks across the assembly and paint lines. The position requires frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds and working in tight spaces to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.
Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical assembly.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble components and subassemblies safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, and work instructions to complete assembly tasks accurately.
- Support assembly line operations by performing general production and general labor tasks as needed.
- Use a tape measure to verify measurements and ensure components meet required dimensions.
- Assist with packaging finished products to prepare them for shipment or storage.
- Lift and move parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Crawl in and out of equipment frames and work in tight spaces to complete assembly work safely and thoroughly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety guidelines and procedures on the production floor.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical assembly experience or general production experience, with at least a few months of hands-on work.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings, and basic work instructions.
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
- Comfort working in tight spaces, including crawling in and out of frames to complete assembly tasks.
- Experience working on an assembly line or in a general production role.
- Ability to use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and measurements.
- Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment
You work on an open production floor within a standard manufacturing facility. The environment includes assembly lines, paint lines, and general production areas where hand and power tools, tape measures, and other basic manufacturing equipment are used. The role involves standing for extended periods, moving between different workstations, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasionally working in tight spaces within equipment frames. You follow standard manufacturing safety practices and procedures in a busy, team-oriented shop setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, MN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
