Provide specialized nursing care in a high-acuity Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) supporting critical heart surgery patients. This contract opportunity is based in Hendersonville, NC, within a 19-bed mixed CVICU/CVRU unit renowned for advanced cardiac care and surgical support. The unit operates with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 or 1:1, adjusted by patient acuity, and benefits from experienced charge nurses and educators to support your clinical practice.

Qualifications & Desired Experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of CVICU or CVRU nursing experience
- Critical Care training essential
- Passion for surgical heart care and acute patient management
- Preferred: Certifications in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room nursing
Responsibilities
- Manage care for post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including those with IABP, Impella devices, LVADS, and ECMO
- Perform clinical skills such as hemodynamic monitoring, chest tube and pacer wire removal, intubation and extubation
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive cardiovascular care
- Adhere to unit policies including attire standards and punctual shift timing
- Flexibility to float to all ICUs and Stepdown units as needed
