Job Description:

The Marketing Specialist is an operator-level role ideal for someone who thrives on balancing multiple marketing projects at once. This will include email campaigns, app updates, website content, in-game messaging, and internal communications. This person is a critical part of the marketing department, turning plans into action and ensuring that the marketing and promotional needs of different departments are met.

Job Duties:

Cardinals Website:

  • Supports concurrent website updates across departments while maintaining brand voice and quality standards.
  • Serves as the primary writer and day-to-day liaison with the MLB Marketing Producer.
  • Works with the Marketing Strategist to fulfill internal requests - creating, editing, and maintaining pages related to ticketing, promotions, sales programs, and team initiatives to keep cardinals.com timely and accurate.
  • Routinely monitors other MLB websites for best practice feedback.

Cardinals Email Marketing:

  • Executes overlapping email campaigns across ticket sales, service messaging, promotions, game-day communications and more.
  • Writes and edits all outbound email content.
  • Collaborates with the Marketing Strategist on a monthly calendar and develops targeted fan messaging for groups including Season Ticket Holders and fan segments.

Interactive Media:

  • Coordinates Cardinals content in the MLB Ballpark app, including layout, feature updates, check-in offers, and push notifications.
  • Works with MLB to stay current on app best practices.
  • Plans and executes Cardinals SMS/text campaigns in coordination with the Marketing Strategist.

In-Game Marketing:

  • Collaborates with the Marketing Director & Strategist and Fan Entertainment team to develop and deliver in-game marketing content (in-park and broadcast) for each homestand.
  • Supports the creation and coordination of live read scripts for in-stadium, radio, and TV use.

Event Coordination:

  • Plans and operates the annual Cardinals Caravan, managing logistics, content needs, and cross-department coordination to ensure a smooth event experience.

Internal Communications:

  • Supports internal communications by producing materials such as companywide meeting notes, broadcaster notes, and other internal communications.
  • Helps ensure internal messaging is consistent and current.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree complete
  • 1 year Marketing experience minimum
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills across channels and formats
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, and project management skills

Education/Experience Desired:

  • 1-2 years of Marketing experience
  • 1-2 years of Sports Marketing experience
  • Adobe application skills
