Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years CVICU RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with pediatric cardiac expertise to provide exceptional care in a cardiovascular intensive care unit. This role focuses on managing complex patients requiring specialized interventions such as chest tubes, pacing wires, ventilators, and vasoactive infusions.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications (AHA only)
- Minimum of one year critical care or related pediatric cardiac nursing experience preferred; new graduates with relevant clinical exposure are considered
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Proficiency in the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Ability to deliver compassionate care addressing complex psychological, social, and cultural needs
- Strong documentation and patient education skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide independent, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients
- Administer medications and treatments according to protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to manage patient care plans
- Delegate and assign tasks appropriately to support clinical objectives
- Support patient and family education identifying learning needs and available resources
- Complete required orientation, onboarding, and competency validations as per organizational standards
Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
