We are looking for a dedicated Medical Records Clerk to join our team on a contract basis in SeaTac, Washington. This role involves organizing and digitizing patient records to ensure accuracy and accessibility for various departments, including billing and claims. Your work will play a crucial role in streamlining operations and supporting the efficient functioning of healthcare processes.


Responsibilities:

• Organize and index patient records to ensure they are accurately categorized and easily accessible.

• Digitize medical files, ensuring documents are uploaded and stored in the correct order.

• Utilize and maintain familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Cerner and Epic.

• Assist in auditing records for completeness and accuracy, identifying and addressing any discrepancies.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure records meet their operational needs, including billing and insurance.

• Scan and upload physical documents into digital systems as needed.

• Maintain compliance with privacy regulations and organizational policies while handling sensitive medical information.

• Learn and adapt to new software systems, such as Solarity, to enhance record management processes.

• Answer inbound calls and provide information related to medical records when required.

• Support the organization of files and charts to improve the overall efficiency of data retrieval and usage

• Experience working with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Cerner or Epic.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when managing and categorizing records.
• Familiarity with medical charting and record-keeping practices.
• Ability to operate effectively in a digital workspace, including scanning and indexing documents.
• Knowledge of privacy regulations and the importance of maintaining confidentiality with medical records.
• Excellent communication skills, including handling inquiries via phone.
• Previous experience with tasks such as billing, auditing, or organizing medical files is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to learn and use new software systems as needed.
