Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapist plays a key role in supporting clients’ functional independence and daily living skills. Through therapeutic activities, individualized planning, and skill-based interventions, the OT helps clients enhance their quality of life and achieve their recovery goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Assessment & Treatment Planning

  • Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans focused on client strengths and goals.
  • Set measurable objectives that align with recovery-oriented care.

2. Therapeutic Intervention & Skills Training

  • Provide individual and group OT sessions focused on self-care, life skills, emotional regulation, and social participation.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of clients in a PHP/IOP setting.
  • Assist clients with integrating coping strategies and functional routines into their daily lives.

3. Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, and case managers to develop cohesive treatment plans.
  • Participate in clinical meetings, staff trainings, and care coordination discussions.
  • Provide OT consultation to other staff regarding client needs and accommodations.

4. Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation in accordance with The Cognitive Center’s policies and licensing standards.
  • Complete treatment notes, evaluations, progress updates, and discharge summaries through EMR system.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, state regulations, and clinical best practices.

5. Client & Family Engagement

  • Provide client education and training in adaptive techniques and wellness routines.
  • Engage families and caregivers (when appropriate) to support clients’ therapeutic goals and continuity of care.

Job Type: Full-time

Expected hours: 40 per week
