Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A full-time position is available for a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the current school year in Concord, NC. This role supports students who are deaf or hard of hearing by providing specialized instruction tailored to their unique communication and learning needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for deaf and hard of hearing students
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, audiologists, and support staff to ensure an inclusive learning environment
  • Use a variety of instructional strategies to support language acquisition and communication skills
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly
  • Provide guidance and support to families regarding educational strategies and resources

Qualifications:

  • Active Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification in the state of North Carolina
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Commitment to student success and inclusive education practices

This opportunity is open to both local and travel candidates. Travel candidates must hold an active DHH teaching certification for North Carolina and will receive tax-free stipends for housing and meals. Contract renewals for the following school year depend on performance and demand.
