POSITION SCOPE


Within our Inventory practice, our valuation work is a key piece of diligence helping financial institutions prepare asset-based loans for a variety of companies within a broad range of industries, including Retail and Consumer Products, Food, Wine and Spirits, Metals, Energy, Building Products, and Automotive, among others. The Financial Analyst's primary role is to provide analytical support to a project team through work on multiple appraisal assignments each month ensuring project deadlines are met. Each inventory appraisal provides GA Group's clients with a valuation for each subject company's inventory, based on key financial metrics, tailored to meet the requirements of the client's intended use.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Ability to assist with three to four appraisals per month in a supportive role, demonstrating conceptual and technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Analyze company provided data and perform item-level analysis to uncover historic and emerging financial trends
  • Effectively set priorities and work in an organized manner while managing multiple moving deadlines
  • Perform due diligence, monitoring and communicating open data items with subject companies to ensure fulfillment of open diligence requests
  • Maintain high level of internal communication with deal team as well as external communication with client/company contact
  • Perform industry research and maintain a database of industry-specific information related to appraisal subject companies
  • Ability to travel for on-site visits to review operational procedures and nature of inventory as needed; travel could represent one to three times a quarter once training is completed
  • Gain the qualitative and quantitative analytical and administrative skillsets required to transition into a project leadership role


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, with a concentration in Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of financial statements and understanding of accounting terms
  • Ability to balance and work on multiple projects at once and continue to provide high quality product
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate excellent level of MS Excel operations and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrate coachability and a strong eagerness to learn and apply GA Group’s appraisal methods and practices.
