Job DescriptionDescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Licensed Mental Health Professional to provide services to the detention adult & juvenile patient population in a correctional setting. Days and evenings shifts available
Accepting: LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC
Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible to meet with incarcerated individuals both in the medical unit and in the housing units to evaluate current/past mental health issues
· Responds to mental health emergencies throughout the facility
· Conducts individual counseling and other possible therapies such as group counseling, substance abuse counseling, anger management, etc.
· Collaborates with the psychiatric practitioner regarding patient status and treatment needed
· Monitors psychiatric medication compliance and report to Health Services Administrator and psychiatric practitioner
· Delivers care in accordance with established MedTrust Policies and Procedures
· Makes referrals to appropriate community resources in preparation for release from custody
· Communicates concerns regarding patient safety and behavior to appropriate medical and security personnel
· Initiates involuntary hospitalization paperwork for patients requiring inpatient mental health treatment outside of the correctional facility
· Communicates the need for special housing to appropriate medical and security personnel
· Conducts daily rounds on patients experiencing mental health crises and determines appropriate housing recommendations
· Thoroughly documents all patient encounters in electronic or paper medical record in accordance with MedTrust Policies and Procedures
· Attends special needs and Medical Administrative Committee meetings with detention administration and mandatory monthly staff meetings with medical staff
· Other duties as necessary
Skills, Knowledge and ExpertiseActive, unrestricted license in the state of Wyoming: LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, LPC (REQUIRED)
Minimum 1 year clinical experience after licensure (REQUIRED)
Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers through American Red Cross or American Heart Association (REQUIRED)
Corrections experience preferred
