Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A registered nurse position is available in Overland Park, KS, offering an opportunity to provide skilled care in a hospital setting on a contract basis. This role involves working 12-hour night shifts (approximately 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM) on a unit focused on telemetry, medical-surgical, and specialty care areas such as general surgery, bariatrics, gynecology, urology, and orthopedics.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Kansas RN or Compact RN license
- Minimum of 2 years recent medical-surgical nursing experience within the last 18 months in a hospital setting
- Familiarity with medical diagnoses including cellulitis, back pain, and kidney stones
- Experience managing Heparin drips, TPN, PCA devices, and proficiency in telemetry rhythm measurement and interpretation
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Ability and willingness to float to all acute care units
- Must be willing to work every other weekend and selected holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care on the designated unit
- Monitor patient conditions using telemetry and other clinical assessments
- Manage complex IV therapies and treatments
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Participate in orientation programs including EMR (EPIC) training and facility-specific protocols
Work Schedule:
- 12-hour night shifts: 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend and holiday coverage as outlined
