The role of a machine operator involves starting, running, and maintaining one to four contact insertion machines. Operators will be responsible for the daily upkeep of the machines, ensuring proper documentation, and conducting quality checks on the products being run. Additional duties include assembly work and preparing cables.

Responsibilities

  • Load contact reels onto machines and place empty reels in designated areas.
  • Keep machine magazines filled with raw housings.
  • Unload machines and package parts correctly.
  • Conduct frequent inspections of product output for quality assurance.
  • Perform measurement checks on required contacts or products.
  • Conduct daily checks of oil levels and clean machines daily.
  • Complete required traceability documentation.
  • Fill out maintenance request forms and record daily maintenance activities.
  • Communicate any machine issues to maintenance mechanics.

Essential Skills

  • Manufacturing experience as a machine operator.
  • Ability to use a microscope.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend procedures.
  • Good oral communication skills.
  • Good hand and eye coordination.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience in assembly or as a machine operator is a major plus.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Direct electronic assembly experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a clean, climate-controlled environment. Employees may work in a clean room or a climate-controlled setting, with a work area that includes a desk. The role involves sitting and standing throughout the shift, depending on the position. The dress code is clean jeans or work pants, a clean shirt, with no piercings. Employees wear a static-resistant smock, and tape on shoes to remove static. PPE such as smock, safety glasses, and ear protection is provided, along with additional PPE like face masks and gloves. Steel toes are not required. Shifts are available on all three shifts, with a priority on the 2nd shift, and shift differentials are offered.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Etters, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.47/hr.
