Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Special Education Teacher with case management responsibilities at an elementary school serving 5th-grade students. This role focuses on supporting students with mild to moderate needs, primarily within the academic setting. The teacher will collaborate closely with a dedicated paraprofessional to provide comprehensive support tailored to individual student needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) in accordance with state regulations.
- Managing caseload duties including progress monitoring, documentation, and communication with parents and staff.
- Collaborating with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure inclusive and effective learning environments.
- Utilizing instructional strategies that accommodate student learning styles and promote academic growth.
Qualifications:
- Valid Tennessee Special Education (SPED) certification required.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in 5th grade.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities as a case manager.
- Commitment to creating supportive and inclusive educational experiences for students with disabilities.
