Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This contract position in Chesapeake, VA, is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support student therapy services within a school setting. The ideal candidate will be skilled in delivering occupational therapy to help students achieve their educational goals through tailored intervention plans and collaboration with educators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on student needs
- Document and track student progress in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to developing effective strategies for therapy interventions
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
- Experience working in a school environment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
