As a TLS Mortgage Underwriter...
You will ensure the quality and integrity of underwriting decisions and processes as well as provide exceptional service to all stakeholders involved. This requires extensive knowledge of our underwriting guidelines including agency loans and the ability to address complex loan scenarios. The Underwriter role requires the ability to manage a pipeline of loans assigned each day proactively and effectively while maintaining the SLA’s on all job tasks. In addition, the ability to accurately and clearly communicate underwriting decisions and needed documentation to Broker Clients.
Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Underwrite conforming mortgage loans

Proactively manage a pipeline of loans with a sense of ownership, including daily condition reviews

Review all mortgage related documentation for accuracy and completeness and meet TLS guidelines

Review to ensure Agency (FNMA/FHLMC) requirements are met on confirming loans

Request missing documentation necessary to complete the underwriting decision prescriptively and concisely

Accurately perform compliance reviews and escalations as necessary

Provide excellent customer service through friendly, professional and responsive communication with both internal and external customers

Maintain excellent credit quality and daily production standards
Qualifications:

2-5 years of mortgage underwriting experience required

Encompass knowledge preferred

High school diploma or GED required. BA or BS highly desired

Proficiency with automated underwriting systems such as DU and LPA
-
Self-starter with strong work ethics and professionalism
-
Team-player and able to work autonomously to meet critical deadlines
