Job Title: Behavioral Health Specialist

Job Summary:
The Behavioral Health Specialist is responsible for providing mental health support, counseling, and case management services to individuals dealing with emotional, psychological, or behavioral challenges. This role works collaboratively with healthcare providers, social workers, and community resources to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical assessments, mental health screenings, and behavioral evaluations of patients.
- Develop individualized care plans and treatment goals in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling services for patients coping with mental health, emotional, or substance use issues.
- Offer crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as required.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential documentation of all patient interactions and treatment updates.
- Educate patients and families about behavioral health conditions, coping strategies, and available community resources.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, case managers, and other healthcare providers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- [State licensure or certification as applicable (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMHC, etc.)].
- Minimum of [1–3 years] of relevant experience in behavioral or mental health settings.
- Strong understanding of behavioral health practices, crisis intervention, and patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a hospital, outpatient clinic, or community mental health program.
- Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish or others) a plus.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
