Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years MRI experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Operate advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to produce detailed medical images that assist in accurate diagnosis. This role involves performing MRI procedures, calibrating and operating equipment with limited radiologist oversight, and ensuring smooth coordination of patient care in collaboration with other clinical services. The position is contract-based and offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment governed by UFCW representation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform MRI scans following established protocols to produce quality diagnostic images.
- Calibrate and maintain MRI equipment, ensuring optimal operational performance.
- Process and review images for accuracy and clarity.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and facility protocols.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certificate or diploma from an accredited MRI school, or Associates degree in Radiology: Required.
- Bachelors degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent: Preferred.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology (ARRT-R), Magnetic Resonance (ARRT-MR), or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT): Required.
- State Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in California: Required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS or HS-BLS or RQI BLS) certification: Required.
- Venipuncture (IV) certification: Required.
- Fluoroscopy license in California: Preferred.
