Position Description


We are seeking a highly motivated, empathetic, and proactive Talent Acquisition Specialist to join our North American HR team. Based out of our Conway, Arkansas facility, this role acts as a vital bridge, executing full-cycle recruitment activities that support both our fast-paced manufacturing operations and our professional corporate functions.

Reporting remotely to the Manager, Talent Acquisition in Vancouver, Canada, you will champion Mercer’s employer brand locally and regionally. You will ensure an exceptional, respectful, and transparent candidate experience while partnering closely with local and regional managers to secure the high-performing talent necessary to drive our sustainable business goals


Responsibilities


  • Lead the internal and external talent acquisition process from end-to-end, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and facilitating the offer process for both corporate and manufacturing roles. Occasionally, coordinate and participate in career fairs.
  • Collaborate closely with local and regional managers and department heads across North America to identify critical competencies, understand unique staffing needs, and build proactive talent pipelines. Collaborate and manage relationships with key external partners.
  • Actively participate as a collaborative member of the broader North American HR team, ensuring local recruitment efforts align with global HR standards, metrics, and KPIs.
  • Serve as a warm and professional ambassador for Mercer International. Ensure an inclusive, fair, and engaging experience for all applicants, celebrating diversity at every step of the hiring journey.
  • Coordinate closely with local HR teams to ensure a smooth transition from candidate selection to onboarding, helping new hires successfully integrate into Mercer's culture.
  • Ensure all local recruitment and tracking practices comply with relevant employment legislation and regulatory authorities. Maintain data integrity and provide necessary reporting on talent metrics.
  • Bring a "can-do" approach to identifying and executing creative sourcing strategies, staying up-to-date with industry trends to optimize our recruitment workflows.

Qualifications and Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3–5 years of dedicated full-cycle recruitment experience. A proven track record of successfully recruiting in both corporate corporate office environments and industrial/manufacturing settings is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with transparency, warmth, and professionalism across all levels of the organization—from production floor employees to senior leadership.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work highly effectively within a remote-reporting structure. Proven capability to remain flexible and agile in a dynamic, multi-faceted business environment.
  • Solid proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), professional networking platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter), and diverse sourcing methodologies.
  • High emotional intelligence, strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the absolute ability to maintain strict confidentiality under any circumstances.
  • A values-based mindset that naturally aligns with Mercer's dedication to safety, sustainability, mutual respect, and operational excellence.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a passport; travel required between sites (~10%) for training and development purposes.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be necessary to support their assigned site across multiple shift times.


Salary & Benefits


  • The salary for this position is $65,000 - $75,000 USD. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
