Position Roles and Responsibilities:
This Staff Accountant position has the following roles and responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly journal entries as part of the monthly financial close process.
- Assume a portion of the accounts payable invoice processing responsibility and serve as the primary backup for the Accounts Payable Specialist during time off.
- Assist with vendor management, monthly statement reconciliation, and new vendor setup.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Bank reconciliation preparation.
- Support monthly joint interest billing (JIB) and revenue netting statement processing for 3rd party working interest owners.
- Review and monitor JIB accounts receivable history in support of timely collections. Establish relationships with outside companies to assist the A/R collections process.
- Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
Critical Skills and Knowledge:
- Accounting background.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough and consistent attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage and meet reporting deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and provide support to other accounting staff.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency.
- Aptitude for learning new systems.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Accounting preferred
- Accounting experience: 2+ years
- Oil and Gas industry experience preferred.
- Enertia Software experience a plus

Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Reasonably expected pay range: $70,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
Discretionary Bonus Program: Quarterly and Annual

Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8-hour shift; flex 9/80 schedule available upon approval
