Dental Hygienist providing high-quality preventive and periodontal care within a modern, team-oriented, technology-enabled practice. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, service-minded, and effective at patient education and communication.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history review and medication reconciliation.
- Perform extraoral and intraoral examinations and oral cancer screenings.
- Complete detailed dental and periodontal charting, documenting gingival and periodontal findings.
- Develop dental hygiene diagnoses and individualized care plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
- Take, process, and interpret dental radiographs in accordance with state regulations.
- Provide prophylaxis and periodontal therapy within the scope of practice, removing biofilm, plaque, and calculus both supra- and subgingivally using manual and powered instruments.
- Apply preventive agents such as fluoride and sealants as indicated.
- Deliver tailored patient education on oral hygiene, biofilm control, nutrition, and risk factors for oral-systemic disease; coordinate tobacco cessation counseling when appropriate.
- Document clinical findings and treatment plans accurately and maintain compliance with infection control and quality assurance protocols.
Required qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
- Active and valid RDH license for the practicing state.
- Maintain current licensure and any certifications required by state or employer.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to patient education and preventive care.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience working in a busy, collaborative dental practice.
- Familiarity with digital dentistry workflows and intraoral scanning.
- Additional language skills (e.g., Spanish).
