Job Purpose
Provides day-to-day purchasing and estimating support for existing production parts, ensuring materials are sourced, ordered, and delivered in alignment with customer and production requirements. Owns execution of purchase orders from placement through delivery, with a strong focus on supplier communication, follow-through, and reliability.
Partners closely with the Supply Chain Estimating Lead to build capacity, improve processes, and create consistency across purchasing and supplier coordination. Supports both direct materials and MRO/indirect purchasing needs, helping the organization respond effectively to operational demands.
This role is a high-ownership, flexible contributor that helps close execution gaps, strengthen supplier performance, and improve overall flow from order to production. Lives company core values and supports achievement of VTO goals.
Key Accountabilities:
- Own existing part material estimating & purchasing: Source, quote, and purchase raw materials to support ongoing production demand.
- Execute purchase orders from placement through delivery: Proactively manage supplier follow-up, timelines, and issues to ensure on-time readiness for production.
- Coordinate across suppliers and internal teams (in partnership with Supply Chain Estimating Lead): Align priorities, communicate status, and build redundancy through cross-training and shared ownership.
- Maintain ERP and purchasing data accuracy: Ensure clean, timely, and reliable data to support planning, traceability, and decision-making.
- Support continuous improvement and MRO/Indirect purchasing needs: Improve purchasing workflows while supporting broader operational needs (maintenance, supplies, services).
