Job DescriptionAre you a skilled CNC Machinist looking to work with cutting-edge equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment? We’re seeking motivated professionals who know their way around tool changes, lathes, and mills — and aren’t afraid to roll up their sleeves and get the job done right!APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Shelby Township, MI looking to add CNC Operators to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to operate and maintain manufacturing equipment, ensuring production efficiency, quality control, and machine upkeep while adhering to safety standards. Sounds pretty great, right?What’s in it for you:

  • Two shifts available to meet your scheduling needs
    • 2nd shift – Monday to Friday from 3pm-11pm
    • 3rd shift – Sunday to Thursday from 11pm-7am
  • Competitive hourly rate ranging between $18.50-$19.50 depending on experience
  • Contract-to-hire position - you'll be hired based on attendance, performance and client needs.

What your day will look like:

  • Load raw components into the manufacturing cell.
  • Manage scrap bins and chip hoppers.
  • Refill coolants and machine lubricants as needed.
  • Clean machines by sweeping, mopping, and maintaining general cleanliness.
  • Operate and execute CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) programs.
  • Complete production and downtime reports in real-time.
  • Adjust machine processes or replace tools based on dimensional trends or the tool replacement schedule.
  • Perform titrations and adjust concentrations for process coolants, wash solutions, rinse tanks, and rust inhibitors.
  • Follow machine maintenance guidelines as per operator instructions, including adding oil, water, and replacing filters when necessary.
  • Monitor machine operation for signs of malfunction, such as abnormal cycles, bearing noises, or tool/workpiece damage.
  • Run production parts, ensuring they meet specified requirements.
  • Inspect parts at designated intervals according to operator instructions, taking appropriate actions based on measurements.
  • Record dimensional data and assess process capability

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in high-volume CNC manufacturing or production is essential
  • Strong understanding of CMM programming, and machine troubleshooting is preferred
  • Proficient in the use of precision measurement instruments
  • Hands-on experience with tool changes, lathes, and milling machines
  • Familiarity with PLEX software is highly preferred
  • Long-term employment history is strongly valued
