Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dedicated Revenue Accountant to join our team in Clearwater, Florida. This is a Contract to permanent position within the life insurance industry, offering the opportunity to contribute to revenue accounting processes and enhance organizational efficiency. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise to manage commission revenue, perform journal entries, and analyze financial data with precision.

Responsibilities:
• Manage assigned business units by posting revenue and preparing reclassification journal entries.
• Process commission statements and address any unresolved exceptions in a timely manner.
• Maintain daily logs and ensure accuracy in reporting for assigned processes.
• Conduct reconciliations of revenue accounts and assist with month-end accruals.
• Maintain files and dashboards to support the financial close process.
• Prepare and record journal entries for revenue reclassifications, accruals, cash activity, and other transactions.
• Investigate routine issues and exceptions, escalating complex problems as necessary.
• Identify recurring issues and provide suggestions for process improvements.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to support organizational goals and ensure seamless operations.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a detail-oriented role.
• At least 1–2 years of experience in financial or revenue accounting roles.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas such as vlookups and xlookups; familiarity with Power BI or SQL is a plus.
• Proven ability to perform journal entries and analyze revenue data with accuracy.
• Excellent critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve routine issues.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently while contributing to team objectives.
• Effective communication skills to document and escalate issues clearly.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and ensure timely completion.
