The CNC Lathe Set-up Operator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of CNC lathe machinery. This role involves setting up both prototype and established processes, adhering to prescribed standards, and working to meet cycle times. The operator will also play a crucial role in promoting timely delivery through their performance, demonstrating knowledge and application of lean manufacturing principles, and fostering teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Follow prescribed standards of CNC lathe operations and set-ups of established processes.
- Exhibit strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills to meet set cycle times.
- Set up equipment to run production efficiently.
- Take an active role in organizing and improving current processes by suggesting Standard Work Instruction (SWI) changes.
- Proactively maintain established company policies and manufacturing strategies.
Essential Skills
- Experience with lathe operation, CNC, machine set up, troubleshooting, and machine operation.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- CNC Machining Certificate or a minimum of 3 years as a Machine Shop Operator.
- Quality-conscious attitude and a sense of pride in designated responsibilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to accurately read blueprints.
- Proficiency with portable measuring devices used in production processes.
- Competence in reading and complying with work instructions, quality documents, and other written materials.
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and mathematical formulas necessary for calculating product dimensions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills to pre-stage raw materials, perform setups, conduct tool changes, run products, and make tool offsets for proven processes.
- Possession of a reasonably complete set of personal tools to perform necessary tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Liberty Lake, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
