Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A California-credentialed Special Education Teacher is needed for a full-time contract position within a TK-8 K-12 school setting. The role involves supporting students with diverse learning needs, managing a caseload of approximately 20 students, and working collaboratively to provide individualized educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as case manager for assigned students, ensuring compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide Specialized Academic Instruction (SAI) minutes and monitor student progress
- Coordinate with support providers including therapists and aides to deliver comprehensive student services
- Lead IEP meetings by preparing documentation, facilitating discussions, and writing reports
- Collaborate with general education staff to integrate accommodations and modifications
- Maintain detailed records of student performance, communications, and interventions
Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Credential
- Experience working with TK-8 students in special education settings
- Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation
- Ability to manage caseload efficiently while maintaining high-quality individualized instruction
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Job Details:
- Location: San Jose, CA
- Duration: Contract through June 5, 2026, with immediate start
- Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days a week
