Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Union County NJ
Pay: Up to $125k
Overview
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a mechanical or industrial manufacturing environment, with strong technical skills and a passion for process improvement. Experience in the medical device industry is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Review customer drawings and specifications to assess feasibility and lead times.
- Communicate with customers regarding clarifications on drawings and tolerances.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Conduct experiments and collect data to develop or improve manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and maintain production equipment; coordinate with vendors as needed.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Drive lean manufacturing initiatives and apply Six Sigma methodologies.
- Validate new or modified equipment and ensure proper preventive maintenance is in place.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Related Discipline Desired.
- Prior experience in a mechanical or industrial manufacturing setting required.
- Experience in the medical device or other highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
- Proficient in CAD and/or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Familiarity with machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders) and CNC machines.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on skills with tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints.
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma Green Belt training preferred.
