This travel position in a progressive care unit immerses you in a fast-paced healthcare environment where collaboration, strong communication, and critical thinking are valued. You’ll gain experience with a wide range of adult and geriatric patient cases including cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and continuous EEG monitoring. Exposure to diverse nursing practices and strong leadership models within a large healthcare system will contribute directly to your career growth and resume development.
Schedule/Hours:
- 0630-1900 or 1830-0700 shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Every third holiday required
- 13-week contract
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years’ RN experience (including 1 year in PCU/stepdown environment)
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all required)
- Must pass an open-book skills exam (90% or higher required)
- Driver’s license submitted to verify compliance with distance requirements (50-mile radius rule applies)
- Cannot hold any position (FT, PT, PRN) with facilities affiliated with CommonSpirit
- RTO (7 days or less) must be requested prior to starting
- Artificial nails are not permitted in patient care areas
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert patient care to adults and geriatrics in a 35-bed PCU
- Manage and titrate drips such as Cardizem, beta-blockers, and seizure medications
- Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs
- Float to medical, ICU, or rehab units as needed
- Adapt to a fast-paced setting while fostering teamwork and positive communication
