Responsibilities:
- Own high-volume journal entry preparation and posting within a compressed 3-day close cycle.
- Prepare and certify balance sheet account reconciliations across multiple general ledger areas.
- Execute accruals, prepaids, intercompany, and non-routine close entries under tight deadlines.
- Document current-state accounting processes and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cycle time, eliminate manual effort, improve accuracy, and generate cost savings.
- Perform transactional accounting, reporting, and reconciliation activities within ERP systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within accounting operations and financial reporting.
Required Experience:
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience in a senior-level role.
- Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced close environment.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems, specifically Sage ERP.
- Experience managing compressed close cycles (3–7 days or equivalent).
- Strong experience with journal entries and account reconciliations.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ramp up quickly.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience documenting processes, including SOPs, workflows, and procedures.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automation tools such as Power Query, Power BI, or Power Automate.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement and operational efficiency.
- Experience working in high-velocity accounting environments.
