Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and meticulous, multi-state Property and Casualty Claims Adjuster to join our team. The individual that fills this role will be responsible for analyzing policyholder claims and evaluating validity. Candidates should be comfortable communicating with policyholders, police officers, and insurance agencies; assisting attorneys with defense if claims are contested; and directing the activities of independent adjusters when necessary. Applicants with construction, Xactamate, subrogation, and multi-state Property and Casualty experience is a plus.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, in-office/in-person position at our Oklahoma City office location. This is not a remote position.
Local candidates preferred, no relocation assistance is provided
Responsibilities:
- Process a wide variety of claims including property, liability, home, automobile, and personal injury
- Examine, photographs, video surveillance, audio clips, statements, and all other documentation related to the claim
- Analyze first reports to determine nature of loss, coverage provided and scope of damage for both property and casualty losses
- Promptly contact insured, inspect and document damage, and meet with insured or their representative
- Develop a file to provide accurate and timely investigation and loss analysis
- Prepare diagrams and estimates
- Identify and communicate any underwriting issues
- Set loss reserves
- Control claims costs
- Recognize and pursue recovery where possible
- Adhere to all statutory regulations and unfair claim practices acts
- Communicate effectively with all internal and external customers
- Proficient with Xactimate
- Working knowledge of standard ISO/AAIS/HIB forms with the ability to interpret coverages and exclusions
- Maintain current knowledge of regulations, codes, industry activity and trends
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Associate's degree in an insurance or business related field preferred
- 5+ years previous experience in property and casualty insurance field
- Current Independent Adjuster’s License
- Familiar with multi-state statutes and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Meticulous work ethic, thorough, investigative skills
- Problem solver, critical thinker
- Analytically and mathematically minded (will be calculating damage totals and compensation percentages)
- Minimal travel may be required
