Job DescriptionPosition Overview
Reporting to the Controller, this position leads daily accounting and financing support activities, directs the monthly closing, and ensures accurate GAAP-basis monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including consolidated reporting when applicable. The role oversees treasury and disbursement controls, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, and the timely delivery of financial information to support lender requirements, regulatory compliance reporting, and external audits and examinations.
The position builds and develops a high-performing accounting team through hiring, onboarding, coaching, and performance management, and partners cross-functionally to improve processes and strengthen internal controls.
Core Functions and Responsibilities
- Lead a high-performing team by recruiting, onboarding, and training talent; manage performance and support ongoing employee development
- Prepare quarterly operating and cash forecasts, and perform financial analyses as requested by the Controller
- Lead the accounting team and assist, as needed, with daily general ledger posting activities and sales commission
- Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations; ensure bank account balances are reconciled timely and accurately
- Partner with the accounting team to document policies and procedures and establish controls to deter fraud
- Ensure accurate financial management reporting, including consolidated financial statements when applicable
- Oversee disbursement review and controls, debt reporting, and lender covenant reporting
- Provide coaching and guidance to build team capabilities and support ongoing training and development
- Coordinate with a third-party valuation firm to independently value retained mortgage servicing rights (MSRs)
- Read and interpret legal agreements (including MLPAs, AMAs, and forward purchase and sale agreements) to determine appropriate accounting recognition and treatment
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
- 5+ years' financial experience, including general ledger accounting, month-end close, and treasury and disbursement management
- 2+ years' experience in treasury operations, loan funding, corporate banking, or a related finance function
- 2+ years' leadership experience
- 2+ years' mortgage experience preferred
- Experience with an LOS (Encompass), a general ledger system (NetSuite), and a document management system strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of bank account administration, cash management, and treasury operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Range: $110K–$125K
Compensation within this range may vary based on each candidate's job-related expertise, skills, and experience. Final offers are determined individually, reflecting the unique qualifications of each candidate.

Location
3 days a week onsite at the Oakbrook Terrace office and 2 days a week remote (as designated by management).
