Job purpose
To provide the best possible dining experience for every Guest. By delivering excellent customer service and quality in every product we offer, and by addressing the Guests’ needs and anticipating their requests. Always recognize each and every Guest.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Greets customers, take orders, mixes and serves hot and cold beverages such as coffee, espresso, cappuccino, cafe latte, tea, chai, fruit blend drinks, etc. while considering customer specifications.
- Works to maintain good customer relations and speedy delivery of all beverages and food items.
- Arranges coffee bar/cart supplies and cups/mugs to make attractive displays.
- Maintains bar/cart area in a neat and sanitary manner.
- Often cleans coffee machines, restaurant areas, restrooms and preparation areas.
- Records all sales, collects money, operates a cash register and follows all cash-handling procedures as required.
- Sell food items.
- Operate a cash/credit card/electronic payment register.
- Complies with all sanitation/safety policies and procedures.
- Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
- Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
- Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
- Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated by unit manager.
- May maintain inventory, stock, and requisitions as well as complete assigned tasks from management every day.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

- Be friendly, courteous, smile, and portray a positive attitude at all times. Be pleasant with customers, say please and thank you.
- Notify manager immediately with any customer complaints or issues.
- Use safe food handling procedures at all times. Following the Serv-Safe requirements and SFM personal appearance policy, such as: Wash hands when starting shift and as needed. Personal hygiene, clean and proper uniform, fingernails short, clean and no polish. No wearing loose hanging jewelry. Change gloves often and when switching tasks.
- Read, understand and follow SFM’s Employee Handbook. Ask for clarification on any item you do not understand.
- Clean uniform: Top, pants, hat or hairnet, apron and nametag must be worn at all times when in the workplace.
