Job Title: Drafter
Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Drafter with over five years of experience using AutoCAD or AdvancedSteel to design and draft stairs and handrails. This position primarily involves work in the drafting department, with occasional meetings and shop visits to oversee fabrication. This is a first shift role offering flexible hours.
Responsibilities
- Design and draft stairs and handrails using AutoCAD or AdvancedSteel.
- Collaborate in meetings and occasionally visit the shop to oversee fabrication.
- Participate in high-end projects, primarily for clients in NYC, focusing on stairs and handrails.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or AdvancedSteel with at least five years of experience.
- Experience in drafting stairs, handrails, and structural steel.
- Possession of an Associate's degree in CAD or Drafting Technology.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Tekla is advantageous.
- Opportunity to lead and train the drafting team if proficient in AdvancedSteel.
- Potential to progress to a Project Manager or lead the drafting department.
Work Environment
The role is based in a family-owned fabrication shop specializing in handrails and stairs. The company offers a casual dress code and a supportive work environment. The drafting team consists of three members, each with over ten years of experience, highlighting a strong work-life balance. All designs are manufactured in-house, providing the opportunity to see designs come to life in the shop.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
