Location: Akron, OH
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: Night Shift | 3x12s | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Akron, Ohio. This position is ideal for RNs with strong acute care experience who are comfortable managing higher-acuity patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.

The selected candidate will provide compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to PCU/Stepdown patients
• Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and charting
• Participate in patient education and discharge planning

Requirements

• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU/Stepdown experience required
• Minimum 18 months of permanent acute care experience required prior to travel assignments
• Active Ohio RN license or Compact RN license required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation
