Physical Therapist (PT) – School-Based

Location: Glendale, AZ

Term: 2026–2027 School Year (Starting July/August 2026)

Reporting To: Director of Special Education

Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Physical Therapist to join our team in Glendale, AZ, for the upcoming school year. In this role, you will act as a vital member of our "related service personnel" under state and federal regulations, providing essential services to eligible students. Your primary focus will be to improve, develop, restore, or maintain students' sensory-motor function, ensuring they can safely and effectively navigate and thrive in their educational environments.

Essential Job Functions

As a school-based Physical Therapist, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluations & Reporting: Conduct comprehensive, appropriate evaluations of students referred for related services under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Prepare detailed, compliant written reports of your findings and recommendations.
  • IEP & 504 Collaboration: Actively participate as an essential member of the multidisciplinary team. Contribute data-driven insights to assist in the development of individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans for eligible students.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Deliver high-quality direct and indirect physical therapy services within educational settings and least restrictive environments (LRE).
  • Team Collaboration: Partner closely with teachers, administrators, parents, and other school personnel to coordinate care, share strategies, and support each student's unique physical and educational needs.

Candidate Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education: Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid Arizona State Physical Therapy License (or eligibility to obtain prior to start date).
  • Clearances: Valid Arizona Identity Verified Prints (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance Card.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, deep knowledge of pediatric/school-based therapy practices, and familiarity with IDEA regulations and the IEP process.
