Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This K-5 Special Education teaching opportunity is based in Washington, DC within a dynamic public charter school setting. The 37.5-hour per week contract runs immediately through the end of the current school year, providing a rewarding chance to support young learners in a focused and supportive educational environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering specialized instruction through both push-in and pull-out services for a caseload of approximately 10 students.
  • Developing individualized education plans (IEPs) and collaborating to implement effective, differentiated teaching strategies.
  • Monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records in compliance with district and state standards.
  • Engaging with staff and families to foster a collaborative, inclusive educational experience.

Requirements:

  • Valid DC Special Education teaching license.
  • Experience teaching special education to K-5 students, with strong knowledge of instructional methods tailored for diverse learner needs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the school team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining a positive, student-centered approach.
