Role Description

The Production Supervisor will supervise all aspects of daily production for their scheduled shift. This includes: quality, team (personnel), attainment, and troubleshooting. While maintaining a quality and people-first mentality, they will assist the Production Manager in planning, scheduling, and execution of orders.


Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supervise training and execution of all production Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), cleaning, and batching quality control procedures.
  • Work hands-on with the team to ensure all procedures are followed.
  • Ensure production schedule is met (attainment).
  • Ensure lot control, production paperwork accuracy, and inventory control procedures are followed.
  • Communicate with the Production Manager about daily and weekly scheduling. This includes total daily production and order of products/operation.
  • Provide training and supervision for employees in 1-3 production lines.
  • Perform safety and quality line inspections, coaching employees to comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and responsibilities.
  • Ensure production efficiency, continuous improvement, and a food safety and quality culture.
  • Monitor and report: daily production results, material usage, waste, downtime and attainment.
  • Work with maintenance to ensure all machinery is operating efficiently and well maintained, perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate performance, maintain discipline and recommend corrective actions for employees.
  • Lead by example, create value, and establish a functional working framework.


Daily Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the headcount and scheduling of the production team.
  • Coaching and training of the production team. Ensuring that all employees are trained for their respective positions and vetting/training new hires.
  • Maintain a quality first and continuous improvement mindset with TTS (taste, texture, seal).
  • Communicate any changes or additions to the daily production schedule.
  • Making sure that all production materials are put away and the next day's materials are staged.
  • Work alongside QA to ensure that all food safety and quality plans are being followed with exactness.
  • Enter all production paperwork and numbers into our system.
  • If something seems wrong or any issues arise , STOP the line before continuing.


Tactical Requirements:

  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience in food manufacturing
  • Bachelors degree in related area (preferred)
  • Familiarity with FIFO, scanning systems, and inventory control is preferred
  • High proficiency and experience in managing people, training and implementing a food safety and quality culture
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills under time-sensitive conditions
  • Experience in GMPs and safety regulations, technical experience in machine mechanics and equipment troubleshooting
  • Self starter, with a desire to learn, grow, and evolve as a professional
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred


Physical and Work Related Requirements:

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time
  • Bending and lifting up to 50 LB
  • Ability to handle allergens including peanuts and treenuts
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written; bilingual is a plus)
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, weekends, or overtime as required
