The Airfoil Inspector is responsible for assessing various gas turbine components received for inspection, following written procedures, blueprints, drawings, and established practices.
Essential Functions:
- Perform assessments on gas turbine components following documented procedures, blueprints, drawings, and established practices.
- Conduct visual inspections as required.
- Perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and maintain related documentation.
- Interface with engineering and order execution teams to recommend improvements to work instructions and routing.
- Generate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in the QSI system.
- Review job paperwork throughout the inspection process to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Utilize precision measuring equipment for incoming assessments.
- Operate small cranes to move equipment, parts, and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations in a fast-paced environment.
- Handle waste according to EHS procedures and legal requirements, including:
- Segregating hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
- Ensuring waste containers are properly maintained and labeled.
- Managing waste accumulation and arranging internal transfers.
- Cleaning up incidental spills as needed.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Completion of EHS regulatory training, including initial and annual Hazardous Waste Management training as outlined in PSM’s EHS Training Matrix.
- 2+ years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings or work instructions.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and timekeeping applications.
