Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Deliver skilled patient care as a Registered Nurse in a step-down unit, providing essential support to individuals requiring close monitoring after critical care. This contract role is based in Hampden, ME, and involves working under the supervision of the Unit Director, with Clinical Leaders or Charge Nurses providing direct shift supervision.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current Maine RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • Telemetry experience preferred
  • MOAB or CPI certifications beneficial but not mandatory
  • Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to multi-task effectively
  • Flexibility in working hours

Responsibilities:

  • Perform patient care functions according to the State of Maine Board of Nursing standards and facility policies
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare team members to deliver holistic care
  • Adhere to safety protocols and quality standards
  • Provide compassionate support addressing both physical and emotional patient needs
  • Participate in orientation (up to 16 hours unpaid)

  • Travelers living within 50 miles of the facility will have a locally adjusted pay rate
  • The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts over the 13-week contract period
